1) What should I do to get my home ready to paint?

We are a local professional painting company with a team of experienced house painters that will manage your house painting project from beginning to end. We will do the work to prepare your space for a fresh coat of paint. We do, however, ask that you move your valued possessions and furniture 2—3-feet from walls or store them in another room before we arrive. We will otherwise protect them from paint drops and overspray with tarps, if space is available. We will also lay down plastic sheets to protect your floors, and tape off areas not being painted such as windows and brick walls. We then fix any cracks, dents, or holes in your walls and sand the surface smooth for the first coat of paint.

2) How long will it take to paint my house?

How long it will take to paint your interior space depends on its size. Painting a large house will take longer than painting a small apartment. Things to consider when estimating a project timeline include the number of rooms and amount of prep work needing to be done. We also have to consider how many coats of paint are going to be needed to complete the job as each needs to be dry before adding the next. However, crew members can be added to increase the amount of work being done so you can get back to business as usual.

3) What is the average lifespan of house paint?

The two greatest considerations in determining time between painting and repainting are exposure and activity. Rooms like an office, child’s bedroom, or hallway that experience high traffic or occupancy should be painted every 2—3 years. Rooms like kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms that experience moisture and temperature extremes need to be painted every 3—4 years. All other interior rooms, like living rooms, dining rooms, and adult bedrooms should be painted every 5—7 years. The exterior of your home or business should be repainted every 5—10 years.

4) What is the best house paint brand?

Our top 3 paint brands are Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Behr. Yes, there are other brands that have a good paint or a nice color. But only those 3 provide the versatility on a broad range of colors and sheens we need for the various surfaces we encounter.

5) Where can I see references for previous work?

We work hard to curate an online portfolio to showcase our latest work. We also encourage our former customers to leave customer reviews that appear below our name in a Google Search. We frequently share these on social media and elsewhere. Please follow the links at the top of the page to see more.

6) Are you licensed and insured?

EmeraldPro Painting is a franchised network of independently owned and operated paint shops in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Each is responsible for maintaining the license and insurance necessary for doing business in their area and protecting your property from any work-related damage. Each office should be able to provide evidence of these upon request.
